Клетка, содержащая более одного ядра и образующаяся в результате митоза (или серии митозов), который не сопровождается цитотомией (образованием дочерних клеток); к М.к. можно отнести мицелий некоторых грибов, четырехъядерные монады некоторых растений и др.; М.к. с очень большим числом ядер называются симпластами.
